Overview

The management of soft tissue surrounding dental implants has recently become a pivotal issue in implant treatment.

Osseointegration and hard tissue stability are intertwined with soft tissue stability in almost all cases. The soft tissue seal which is also known as the “transmucosal attachment” is vitally important for the biomechanical success of the implant, as well as the esthetic end result.

Based on the treatment plan, two main categories of surgical techniques for peri-implant soft tissue management exist:

– Increasing the quantity and quality of periosteum-attached keratinized tissue to improve plaque control.

– Creating or recreating supracrestal soft tissues, from the crest of the bone to the mucosal margin.

This webinar aims to outline the indications and procedures of these surgical techniques to adequately manage soft tissues around implants both in the esthetic and posterior zones.

Webinar Objectives

Assess peri-the implant soft tissue for long-term success rates.

Differentiate between osseointegration and soft tissue integration.

Identify risk factors for implant maintenance.

Determine when and where soft tissue grafting is indicated.

Surgical techniques for soft tissue thickness augmentation.

Surgical techniques for keratinized tissue augmentation.
